I couldn't resist sharing this post with you. I've been researching how to launch a product, so when I saw this post by Ellen Finkelstein on how to launch a product, I wanted to share it with you, too.

  1. Research people's needs.
  2. Brainstorm titles.
  3. Write blog posts on related topics.
  4. Write social media posts and plan where to post them.
  5. Write emails and pieces for your newsletter.
  6. Create a sales page.
  7. If it's an event, record it and send it afterwards.
  8. Consider free events and videos.
  9. Get others to help in your launch.
  10. Launch it.

    While I think your list is good, I also think it's a bit simplistic. In the end, I believe quality products take time to develop. With that said, I probably work too hard on perfecting and get hung up on the details of delivery. It's a good list to start from.

    I agree that this is a simplistic list for a launch. I want people to go to Ellen's site to see the details. My purpose is to help people write their products, or write them for them, not to market them. Ellen's list is a good resource to get started.

    Products do take a lot of time to develop. I provide more details in my other posts, yet I strive to simplify because, as an instructional designer, I know a lot of processes and jargon. Like you, I tend to sweat a lot of details and provide very accurate, detailed content, tasks, and activities.
