Stop Perfectionism from Strangling Your Business!

If you want to help clients with your content, stop perfectionism from strangling your writing. It can stop you  you from offering your message to the people who need it most.

I'm highly perfectionistic myself. Even after all these years, I never feel my work is good enough. I keep researching, learning, and rewriting. For example, I generally take a few hours to write a blog post. A few days
later, I'll spend another hour or two proofreading and revising. Then, I'll spend another hour or more getting the message right as I post to my Facebook page, online groups, and LinkedIn.

Your Writing Will Never be Perfect!

There's no right or wrong in writing. There's always something to improve. It's the same for me, and I've been writing personally and professionally for my whole life. Perhaps you're less comfortable writing than I
am. Maybe you're like a lot of my students and clients. You can write, but to write something like a book or video script or workshop sounds daunting.

So many people edit as they write. They're fixing their work before they even have the ideas on paper! They're worried about being perfect, when they haven't finished determining what they want to say, and have barely begun to express it.

Over the years, I've developed methods to help my students and clients slow down. I teach a step-by-step process. Research, if needed, then organize ideas, then drafting, then rewriting, then editing, then proofreading.
The process helps you stay sane while allowing improvements along the way. The process also stops perfectionism.

Today's technologies allow you to self-publish in so many formats. In most cases, you can revise later, if you want to. Most of the time, you'll simply be on to your next project to help your clients.

Get Your Project Out NOW!

Another way you may let perfectionism strangle your process is to let it stop you from launching your products. You focus on learning more, listening more, and don't feel ready.

I've been doing this too. My supporters have told me to just get going! So, I finally launched my newsletter today, and other ebooks and writing groups are coming soon.

This is what I'm telling you, too. How can we help others change their lives if we aren't letting them know about us and offering our products and services?
