I just saw this information graphic by David K. from The Web Writer Spotlight. He humorously shows fifteen common writing mistakes side-by-side with their fixes. Easy peasy. Several people I shared it with on Facebook and LinkedIn loved it.
In my work, I've found that these truly are the most common writing mistakes that clients and students make.
I recommend that you print it out and hang it up as a colorful reference when you don't know the right punctuation or whether to use such word choices as:
- affect or effect
- then or than
- their, there, or they're
- me or I.
